You go on interviews until you have a signed offer in hand and a start date. Offers that are verbal are not real offers. Offers can be rescinded. You only withdraw when you have it in writing and your start date is very close.

Not until you have a signed offer

Don't withdraw until you actually start. Unexpected things can happen at the last minute.

You’re almost there. Congrats. I hope it gets settled fast and you can relax for a few weeks before school starts.

I have twice had verbal offers pulled. Keep interviewing until you have a written offer and maybe a start date!

Congrats, though. I hope it all goes smoothly.

Thanks all for the feedback. It's a large district, I interviewed at the school with the principal and assistant principal. Life has been kicking me down lately so I was hoping to just take this as win and move on but I'll keep the other interviews just in case.

Drug testing, TB testing, current funding issues, until you get a start date letter then continue to look.

No. Go to the other interviews and report back your job options here. People will comment which district is better to work in. Some districts do a bait and switch so they promise you are getting hired to work at one school or subject but then once you are hired you get switched to something else or another school much further away.

Don't withdraw anything until after your first day.

Unfortunately no, it isn’t safe. It isn’t safe until you’ve gotten an offer letter and you’ve accepted it in writing. All sorts of things can go wrong between the hiring manager interview and the letter. They aren’t LIKELY to go wrong but it’s possible.

If it was easy to get the interviews and if this job fell through you could get another…sure, it would be an understandable step to cancel an interview. But if you need a job…hang in there until you get a real offer before you take other options off the table.

OP is it with a large school system, a small school system or an independent school? Congratulations on your offer.

Don't withdraw until the offer is in writing in your hands. Just do the other interviews. Think of it as practice if you must, but don't deliberately bomb them or anything like that.

I had an interview for a teaching position today and was told without a doubt that I got the job and HR would take it from there. No anticipated HR issues on my end. I had other interviews scheduled for this week and some other applications in the system. It's safe to withdraw those, right? There have been a lot of stressful life events recently so I feel like my brain is too tired to process this hence the crowd sourcing.
