Thanks for your help! Friends took some good recent photos. I sent them to a younger friend who is active on the apps and she told me which ones to use. I *am* really glad I'm not looking for a serious relationship. Chatting with a couple of men. Already nixed one who quickly gave off psychopath vibes. Too bad. Very handsome. But definitely off.

Ridiculous. Like there aren't new people constantly joining the app.

Like saying if you don't get a bite the first 5 min of fishing in the ocean, you will never get a bite. Fish move around.

If you dont meet in person within a week of chatting online, it will never happen.

First meeting should be coffee/drinks, dont lock in for a whole meal event until youve met in real life and establiahed interest in a second date.

Have low expectations.

Assume they are seeing other women.

Most people under 50 are very afraid of being approached in public now. It's weird.

Watch them with their phones, acting like they have something important to do on their phone. It's their security blanket, and it's making everyone into shy, scared of the world, nerdy introverts.

Try them all. They are mostly all owned by the same corporation, who wants to keep people on the apps as long as possible, swiping as much as possible, to make more ad revenues.

Match is the largest with most users.
POF is probably next largest.
Tinder might be up there in user numbers, but harder to see anyone, 100% swipe app.
Also some pay sites like EHarmony, ChristianMingle, etc.

I feel like Hinge is more popular now, but I would use both. When I was online dating, I used both Bumble and The League. Hinge could be nice because it allows you to be pursued, and you get to be a bit more passive.

Bumble and Hinge have very similar groups of people on them and the conversation dynamics are also similar. The difference is that women don't have to say "Hi" first on Hinge. Hinge also has a little more text in the bios and some people include short voice recordings.

You'll probably get some dates on Bumble and maybe you'll enjoy meeting some of the guys.

I meet lots of people IRL but I don't drink or go to bars. Currently have a strong mutual connection with someone I met organically but I don't want to pursue that because he's quite a bit younger and I think it is not fair to him. Have actually met his family and friends. I'd like to date casually right now. Apps seem to be pretty much everyone's default.
