Subject: What gift do you give a couple that’s eloped and hosting a wedding reception a year later?
I wouldn’t bring a wrapped gift to the reception, I know this used to be common in some areas, but I don’t think it’s done much anymore. I would either give $100 in a card (which you can bring to the reception and they probably will have a card box) or send a gift from their registry in about that amount and have it sent directly to their house.

Op here. I mention the living situation because normally the couple in our circles were moving into a home that wasn’t furnished and registries consisted of plates, dining wear, bedding etc..

Op again. I have never actually given cash, it’s always been a registry.
15 years ago everyone was on TheKnot. Registered at Macy’s and Target. I’m a bit unsure of cash territory.
