Every school is different and should have a page for IB credit: https://catalog.umbc.edu/content.php?catoid=40&navoid=2862#international_baccalaureate__ib__examinations

Yeah, kid’s WASP school didn’t even ask for IB scores. They don’t give credit for either, but helps with placement.

Same for DS attending JMU.

I had two get the IB diploma and they both received credit for one gen ed course.

We're in Virginia and I found that VT is the most generous college for awarding credit IF you earn the IB diploma. They give credit for TOK the EE and one SL course in addition to credit for HL courses. But you have to earn the diploma to get credit for those items. Otherwise, its just HL courses.

Got some credit for HL 5s - varied by class.

For the SL classes my kid sat for the AP (even thought they didn’t take AP). Didn’t prep extra much. Picked up some nice credits.

Similar for my kid for one IB 5.

There is a LAC in our state that's very generous. IB diploma kids get about a year's worth of credit.

How many credits did your kid get from the US university they attend/ed for an IB exam score of 5 or higher on HL exams? Did they also get any credit or intro course waiver for any SL exams they took?
