Everyone in real life seems wealthy to me. Well not everyone, but those that i interact with professionally and socially.

A lot of people are being given items for free to show on social media in an attempt to influence people to buy them. Their trip is paid for by a resort and then they posts and videos about how great it is so we'll want to go there.

We are never seeing people's credit card bills - are they paying the bare minimum?

People use Only Fans to make extra cash.

I'm not on social media and no, I am not sensitive to other people's financial status. I know very well where I stand, and I'm fine with it.

Pick other stuff to look at, OP, and the algorithm will show you something else.

Just saw a stat, 46% of Americans carry a credit card balance, avg balance is $7200. We live in a consumer driven society.

No need to keep up with the Jones. Reduce some consumer spending and build wealth through saving and careful investing.

Our entire country depends on consumers spending. We are all brainwashed to do it.

The first couple of lessons you need to teach your kids.. no matter what..
1. Save at least 30% of what they make
2. Spend less than what's left

If they can operationalize this in their lives, they are golden. Doesn't matter what they do for a living.

I once worked for a credit repair company. It opened my eyes. Sometimes I wonder if this country is a giant ponzi scheme and we are all in a dream. What shocked me was the high number of high income people with crippling debt etc with very expensive assets.
