I would rethink this trip or you need to provide more info on who has the broken leg to decide if there are work arounds. You can leave a parent behind to do active things, but obviously leaving a DC behind would be mean. It also seems mean to the non-broken leg kid to go to an amusement park town and say you can't go. You could at least all go to the Hershey factory and then one parent skips rides, but the four of you still enjoy Hershey Park.

I’ve been to Lancaster many times and can’t really imagine enjoying it for a few days as a teen. But if you’re at on that, you might like the Light and Sound Theater or one of the others.

That being said, if you’re bound by a broken leg, I’m not sure there are really many great places to go within 2-3 hours of here.

And it's way too hot to walk around Gettysburg and reiterating family member has a broken leg so that's not feasible.

We did some of those things. We all also enjoyed the potato chip factory at Herr’s.

Go to Hershey Park instead and stop at Gettysburg on the way home. My 9 and 12 year old enjoyed that trip this past fall.

I think you could have fun in Lancaster. It's fun to see the Amish in their wagons. There are some great restaurants. Tweens might like Decades, a restaurant with a ton of arcade games.

One warning though is that very little is open on Sundays.

As in ... Pennsylvania? I was dragged there as a kid around those ages, and my older brother and I have talked about how it was the most boring trip we were ever forced to go on.

I think a tween would find the Turkey Hill experience boring (my kids were 7 and 4 when we went and they loved it).
