This won’t matter for us. A bottle takes forever and we have to syringe feed. Formula and a bottle make zero difference.

No tongue tie and we do use a nipple shield. Still a very slow eater.

Bottle feed now

Then move to whatever the thing is called where you use a nipple shield but also basically a feeding tube run up through the shield and then slowly lower the amount of milk that comes from that. I had to do that in the NICU w/ one of my 31 week twins. I would get another opinion or work with a different feeding specialist bc 37.5 weeks isn’t early enough to be a cause.

Is this actually effective though? We had strict orders to bottle feed/syringe feed to meet certain weight requirements.

+1
My oldest had to feed this way for a few weeks. She did have tongue tie. She ultimately nursed for 6+ months. If BF is your goal it is still possible.

Try changing out the nipple style. Baby may not be transferring milk efficiently with the bottle you’re using now. I recommend the Lansioh brand.

You are doing great and don't get discouraged. Maybe do get some help though (family or hired) so you can rest.

We are slowly working on both. I resort to syringe feeding after bottle of breast takes 45-60m+ with little progress.

Our beautiful 2wk old baby is heavily syringe fed for all meals because of early arrival ( 37.5wks) and latch issues. We are working with an Ibclc but have progress has been slow. We are very tired. We would love any tips to move away from syringe feeding and make this season of life as easy as possible.
