University of San Francisco, if you want a progressive Catholic school (it is, after all, in SF) with a beautiful old majestic SF church on campus

My California son almost went there, as he was a good fit, but he decided to go back East

Dayton is one to check out if you want a ND type vibe of sports/loyal alums and strong campus culture.

Also check out schools with active Newman Centers. Texas A&M is one strong example but there are many others.

This. Just choose Catholic colleges- Fairfield, Villanova, Providence, Marquette. Also some publics in the northeast like Rutgers, UMass, U Del, Penn State.

You could consider a college where there are FOCUS missionaries. There are currently over 200 colleges. www.focus.org

William and Mary has its own church. It used to be the town's Catholic Church, but it was given to the college when a larger church was built outside of town. Very strong Catholic community there. https://www.tribecatholic.org

If these are lottery tickets rather than realistic reaches, I think you should apply ED to BC or Holy Cross.

They do a Eucharistic adoration as part of freshman welcome, and have a very active community (plus ties to Pope Leo)

We are trying to broaden our list to include non Catholic university but would prefer school has student body that has church on campus or near and religious opportunities. Child also likes D1 sports. Of course applying to Notre Dame and Georgetown but those schools seem like lottery tickets and need some balance. TIA
