Plus, one for gardening center , my neighbor works at a garden center to keep busy a few days a week, also make some cash, and get a discount on gardening supplies. She is very interested in gardening, which makes it fun enough for her.

I’m not retired yet, but a friend works at a local (small budget) nonprofit 15-20 hours a week as the assistant. Answering emails to the general inbox, making flyers that they need, ordering supplies.Sounds like she does not make a lot, but I guess it supplements
retirement, or prevents her from having to pull Social Security yet, and something to do during the day.

Tutoring. It's good money and I enjoy working with kids 1:1 or in very small groups for short amounts of time. It's also flexible. If there's a kid I don't like, I don't have to work with them. I tutor now on top of full time teaching, but I'm nearing retirement and this is one way I'll keep active as well as make some money.

I substitute teach. It gives me maximum flexibility - I choose when I want to work and what jobs (grade level, subject) I want to take.

One of my friends is working for an estate sale company. She typically works one morning a week doing setup and one day on the weekend at the sale.

My nephew stayed with me last summer. He made so much money sitting people's dogs and cats, he actually turned down other gigs like gardening...

My goal is to work part time at a bakery in retirement. Even a bakery counter someplace like Wegman's would be ok. I really enjoy baking and eating baked goods.

I know someone who is a dog walker and someone who works in a golf pro shop and another who works in the tasting room at a vineyard.

None are people that need money but want to stay active and choose a part time retirement job related to their interests.

That sounds wonderful. I spent 30+ years sitting on my butt, the last thing I want is more sitting around.
