Not Browns. Ripped me off on service and tried to gouge me for unnecessary repairs.

They all do it, maybe bill page to a lesser extent. Just stick to the items on the maintenance minder and decline everything else.

Orrrr... find a reputable mechanic and tell him to do what needs to be done. Never, ever go to a dealership for ANY kind of maintenance unless it's covered by warranty. They are crooks.

Most reputable mechanics are not much cheaper. But I most prefer an honest mechanic experience. I have used the same advisor for years at Browns, and he very rarely ever suggested more than the maintenance minder service — maybe twice there were something a little unexpected over the 10 years we’ve been going there. Try out a few advisors and I think if you build a report with one they will be fair knowing that you are looking at YEARS of repeat service for a 200k mileage potential

Thank you, Mrs. Brown.

That is a dumb advice. Some services are better done by the dealer.

Rare. A good mechanic won’t do work he doesn’t feel comfortable doing. NP

What’s the mileage on your car. Use Checkbooks to find reputable shops near you. Which fluids need to change depends on your mileage. Check users manual.

This is the way.

My dashboard is telling me that I need service. It's an oil change, tire rotation, new fluids sort of situation. Is it ok to go somewhere other than the dealership for this? I'm trying to save money. And if so, can you recommend somewhere to take it? I'm in Arlington.
