No. I take this regularly. If it’s a problem, I’d quit my job and find another one. I work to live, not live to work.
When other people are out, I’ll cover their stuff, but I’m not going to kill myself staying late or anything either. The work getting done is the managers problem, not mine.

No, of course not.
Management's whole job is to hire, train, and plan such that one absence doesn't break things. Honestly it's rude not to let them earn their paycheck.

I take a lot of time off because I accrue extra leave by working holidays and training new hires. I need coverage, don’t feel guilty.

Spouse says unless your gone for 3 weeks, it's not a real vacation. Take the leave, you've earned it, have a great time

No, it isn’t rude. As long as you’re following company policy and your leave is approved, the company should have enough personnel to cover your absence. Moreover, you’ll be helping to cover for others when they take leave. It all balances out, eventually. I think you should enjoy your vacation guilt-free.

You're taking A LOT of vacation. You've taken off over a month, and we're only halfway through the year. That's a lot. Just FYI in case you're unaware, because you said your boss wouldn't approve it if it weren't ok. Don't be surprised if you get feedback at some point that you're taking too much leave.
The person has the vacation. The company is contractually obliged to honor it. We don’t all want to miss life for climbing the ladder. And I’m gen X, and a manager for a F500 (wasn’t my plan), for what it’s worth.

I just took 2.5 weeks off. Yeah, I felt guilty, but I have the time. And I've already taken 2 other week long vacations this year. I figure if my boss doesn't want me to take the time off, she wouldn't approve it.
