Will your DD be graduating at 21 or doing a standard 4 years of HS? That might change my answer. There are some Ohio districts doing a good job in either scenario.

In-state community college and 4-year college options are abundant and pretty accessible. Do you think that your DD might pursue college? If she is going to stay at home for college, it makes a lot of sense to plan for both a good HS district and a good local college. Depending on finances, there are some smaller private colleges that are more commuter-y that would be supportive places for a girl with AudHD. Capital in Columbus is one that I have personal experience with in this situation.

Let’s not berate fellow parents who are just trying to figure out what support they can get for their children. But yes, I would also like to know what source you have on this.

This is a district specific question, not an Ohio question. You’ve narrowed it down to metropolitan areas but you will need to narrow it down further. Or, are you talking about resources for adults or university students?

We live in neighboring Indiana and our county has a strong level of services and resources. That level varies throughout the state depending on the population density and wealth.

She’s in a private high school that is good for her, so we probably won’t move until she’s done - but that will mean I will “commute” (spend a week or two in Ohio per month). So we are open if there are fantastic high schools somewhere.

She has “low support needs” meaning she’s very verbal and has pretty good social/emotional skills and will likely work toward relative independence. But, she has pretty severe EF challenges.

Her goals are 4 year college but she’s going to need support likely into adulthood with executive functioning. We have pretty good resources in the DMV and for that reason alone we are nervous about moving her.

We are considering Columbus, Cincinnati or Cleveland areas.

Are you thinking specific regions and what’s your budget?

Suburban schools around Columbus would be strong options- I would start with Dublin and parts of Worthington next. Can share more ideas if that’s an area you’re targeting.
