It was good, I would recommend. About five stops.

There’s a cookie shop. Can’t remember the name of it. But they sell bougie cookies and little containers of alcohol you can pour on. So like a choc chip cookie with Kahlua….
They have milk too for the kids. It was something fun and different.

Most guides told us to avoid La Perla.

I enjoyed going to the beaches in Isla Verde.

The art museum of San Juan was fascinating too.

A day trip to the rainforest could be fun.

The cathedral is amazing. We toured it on our own but I actually would have loved a historical tour that could really point out the significant things for my kids.

I mean, make sure you enjoy the beach. If your hotel isn't beach front you can find somewhere that will set you up with some chairs and an umbrella. If your hotel doesn't have beach drink service a lot of nearby restaurants offer takeaway pina coladas and the like.

At least go to a restaurant on the beach.

Enjoy wandering through Old San Juan. We had breakfast at the restaurant inside of El Convento and then wandered from there. It was beautiful.

If you're into that kind of thing, there's a square where you can feed the birds and they will swarm you.

Make sure you wander around Old San Juan at night. Fewer crowds from the cruise ships and the locals come out and sing and perform for each other. It's really lovely.

Fly kites on the grounds of El Morro. You can buy them at Walgreens nearby or a street vendor. Make sure you try the piraguas or snow cones. So yummy. For eats try the Choco Bar., and Cafe El Punto. We love Old San Juan! Such a cool city.

El Morro fort

Tour of La Perla, a historically poor community on the same little peninsula as Old San Juan. A lot of music and other culture has come out of La Perla. Typically you were not supposed to enter on your own (because of crime), but I'm not sure of that still applies. It's the neighborhood where they filmed Despacito music video with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.

San Juan National Historic Site. Go at your own pace - spend as little or as much time as you want.

Spending a few days. Will likely do a food tour but would love recs for activities, restaurants etc. Family with teens.
