I see that nobody answered your question! We have used Home Depot and Carpetland in Falls Church, VA. Both were great.

We've used Home Depot multiple times. The first time was absolutely fine. The last time, however, not a very good installation job.

If you have small kids and/or pets in the home, carpeting may not be practical nor functional.

But overall I love the look ➕ feel of home carpeting plus it makes a house cozy and comfortable too!

Carpeting can make a home feel warm and homey.
It also is excellent for insulating sounds if you share a common wall or floor.

It's also helpful for older dogs who have a hard time on hardwood and tile.

It's hit or miss. Most places hire anyone they can at the cheapest per hour rate to install.

It's the installation that matters, as even a high quality carpet it not properly stretched and installed will buckle and wear unevenly.

Don't skimp on the under carpet padding either. It's what protects your carpet from traffic wear.

We got two estimates for carpeting two rooms ealier this year. Empire came first, and quoted us $3,200. National Floors Direct came the next day, and quoted us $1,700. But they were shady as hell and would not put anything in writing and insisted that the estimate would be not valid if I did not sign right away. I sent them home, called Empire, told them I had just received a bid for $1,700, and they matched it.

Then they came and did a nice job on the work.
