I'm the PP who worked in a similar toxic environment. It's not that simple. If you sided with the person being "shunned" you were the next target. Most of us there were young and didn't have the ability to just quit or lose our jobs without something lined up so we just tried our best to keep our heads down while we tried to get the hell out of there.
