I grocery shop on Mondays. Next Wednesday we leave for family vacation. Every week by Monday we are desperate for perishable things like milk, fruit, veggies. At the same time, there’s no way I will use up anything I buy on Monday if we leave Wednesday, and it feels almost wasteful to buy things just for two days only to have to throw most of it away.
How do you work this? Do you just improvise and make do with what you have, even if that means eating a lot of packaged snack food instead of fruit/veggies-type things? Or would you do a small shop for just those two days?
We are flying and can’t bring anything, just to be clear.
