And NVGSA Dimensions has their strongest 18U season of the softball year in fall by far, plus they have several summer league teams at 18U, and spring Dimensions as well. If enough interest they split divisions. Play in the same double headers as the travel orgs and you don't have to play rec to join. You just don't get practices if you don't play rec.

These sound great and I'm glad to see it. Doesn't work for us geographically but glad to see the idea is out there.

My daughter’s team is splitting in half. There are 6 that have to move up and the others can stay at 10u another year. Both teams will hold open tryouts. The coach is moving up because his daughter is.

What age and where? Lots of tryouts happening now. It sucks-- I worried mine would be in the same boat but her team decided to age up together.

Oof, that's hard that most of the team isn't moving up. I hope you guys find a great new team - so much activity already happened and over the next couple weeks (if it doesn't just rain every night).

I know of a couple of girls who surprised their teams by moving down an age class as a way to move to a better team, or who are considering it. It does seem like there's more movement than usual this year.

My info is all from 12U and under, I'd think there's a strong chance it's different for the high schoolers. For a fall/winter birthday elementary schooler staying with your classmates makes a lot of sense. Though the September birthdays who started school on time have it tough.

How is the tryout process going for you? Is your team staying together? Picking up lots of new members?
