The only non-kneeskin 12U compliant suit with the FINA/WA check that I’ve seen is the Arena Powerskin 2.0 and the Arena Next:

Same. Aquablade does not have the marking. The only suits with the markings are kneeskins because that is how the swimming rule reads. Bonded seams are allowed without the kneeskin component. You can reference the NVSL handbook if you have specific questions.

They're asking because a certain subset of girls wear these. They have the tech suit QR code on them. The other girls see this girl wear it and wonder why. The team says no tech suits but some girls wear these. (and they definitely buy them for this purpose)

Talk to your team rep. Our team rep does not allow tech suits/performance suits, etc. unless going for a record.

Why does this topic repeat itself a dozen times over the summer season? Just let the kids wear what they want and stop judging what other people are doing. Make decisions for your own family that are best for your family and your swimmers.

Aquablade is not a tech suit. It’s not even comparable to a kneeskin. It’s a starter suit that a huge number of year round swimmers use for every meet and many girls wear throughout the summer too. In fact, Aquablade was NCAP’s team suit until they stopped partnering with Speedo. It doesn’t have the lining that a Dolfin or similar suit has, so it is arguably better for racing. My daughter has worn an Aquablade ages 7-12, and only wears a kneeskin in PV Champs, NCSAs, and NCI meets (and the like).

There are 12Us that wear kneeskins and 12Us that wear aquablades or the equivalent, none of these are tech suits. Hi all. Just wondering if anyone knows or has opinion on Aquablade Recordbreaker swim suit that Speedo, at least, markets as racing suit and a tech suit. USA swim has it listed in their 12&U approved tech suits list.

Do you consider it a tech suit and should they be worn at NVSL B meets? Should these be worn at all A meets?

What is your team’s approach to this kind of swim suits?
