Looking for a neighborhood with:

- a community with a dedicated social commitee / active civic association
- a neighborhood in which most families send their children to public school, at least for elementary

We would be grateful for any advice, good and bad.

Does a house like this work? It’s a 15 minute drive to DC and it’s on a quiet residential neighborhood road (with no through traffic). It’s in country club hills, if you want to join the country club that could provide some community involvement.
