second Gettysburg- know about a dozen grads and all very successful - client facing roles or sales - school takes good fun kids who are mediocre students and develops and cultivates life skills

My DS had a nice experience at Denison and received a very competitive merit aid package.

Furman is a great school. My son had a 3.4 GPa and a 32 ACT. Furman offered him the bell tower scholarship, worth $30k a year. We live in the Midwest and going to school in SC was just too much for him, but I love that school.

Other great schools where average students get aid and get a fantastic education -

Wooster
Lawrence
DePauw
Allegheny
Connecticut College
Rhodes
Sewanee - son applied here - for $35 a year
Dickinson

My son, and average student, really likes Furman. He likes the campus. He said it was all nice. Everything appeared to be updated or new. They give a fair amount of aid. Any other schools like that? He is open to the Midwest, the South as far as Georgia and New England.
