Regarding your 2nd paragraph, do we work at the same place?

It rubs we the wrong way and I associate with strivey try-hard shiny young women fresh out of college.

Same poster. Just looked up some stats. Nearly all women (94%) in c-suites played sports as a kid, and over 50% competed in college. Among c-suites overall, 70% are former college athletes. Two-thirds of Fortune 500 CEOs are former college athletes. Basically, c-suite is bro culture.

Anyone who calls themselves “c-suite” is self-important. Do top actors and actresses call themselves A-listers? These labels are for plebs looking up.

Ha that reminds of of startup times when three guys were like ok who's going to be the CEO? Who's going to be COO? And the one that was left was like OK, I'll be CTO I guess. They had to hire a CFO because they were too stupid. Too many chiefs and no workers. They went under.

I also think it’s dumb and associate the C-word with a really offensive term for a woman. So every time someone says C-suite I think of that. Lol.

I also don’t particularly like it. I just say I’m a member of our executive team - when there’s a reason to bring it up, which isn’t often.

Especially at smaller companies, it’s a bit ridiculous.

It’s a normal and longstanding term.

It just sounds so dumb. What is this suite all you chiefs are hanging out in.

I automatically assume anyone who calls themself a "c-suite executive" is a total fraud.
