NP. My kid is also nominated, UMC as well. The website and literature repeatedly say it’s not income-based, but why would UMC kids need a “posse?” It’s a little confusing, that being said my son is going for it.
Our UMC white DD was a finalist. She did not proceed because she did not get matched to her top choices. She got into her top choice anyways applying RD.
The finalists we saw during the online meeting where a wide spread from all walks of life and schools.
Don't get discouraged. They are looking mainly for leadership experience/skills in combination with academics.
Household income does not come into play. Not from our experience. It is worth a shot.
