If they look too good, people will think they are fake (scammers).

Ask a friend or two to come over to your house one day for a photoshoot. Change outfits, settings, poses, etc. It will be very fun and your friends can provide immediate feedback on the pics. Plus, chances are good you will be having so much fun you will be really smiling (vs forced smiles for the camera) which always looks so much better in pics.

Use photos with in them friends but crop the friends out. It doesn’t matter if you can’t crop them out perfectly and bits and pieces of them are left.

Also, consider getting professional photos. If they’re taken outside, they’ll look casual… no one will know they’re professional, they’ll look more like a friend took them.

Ask friends.

Friend photos are nice. You can put a smiley face on (or blur) the faces of friends.

Avoid old photos. They're counter productive. People you meet will get annoyed when they meet you and you look much older than your photos.

Using a phone with a camera timer works. A cheap tripod is less than $20 if you don't have a good place to prop up the phone.

Include at least one photo that shows your whole body. Some people use more athletic shots.

A few nice smiling doing things you enjoy will work great. Men don’t care if you do one “behind the wheel” selfie either, but you do need to include at least one that shows your figure (unlesss you don’t want to do that and everyone will know why).
Lol...I have a great full body photo with friends. I was pleasantly surprised that even I can see I look really good. I'm inclined to somewhat crop my friends, though. I don't think they need to be seen on Bumble....

A lot of people have a pic with others. It shows you’re not a loner and you have social connections.

Use google draw or something to indicate who you are with an arrow etc. or use the caption (“like my silly hat?”)

My friend (38) who has wanted some more casual relationships since her divorce has been OLD. She just uses cropped photos and then had us take a few semi candid solo shots of her when we go out. She's been pretty popular online and she's not like drop dead gorgeous (she's pretty and fit though).

Oh good idea! I did that a few months ago for my passport photo. It turned into quite a production but my photo was finally accepted after two dozen attempts...

Help me out here! I'm ready to think about dipping in to the apps post-divorce but I need photos. My friends tell me I have the post-divorce glow. I lost a ton of weight - funny what happens when the cortisol levels calm down - it's kind of wild. I'm fit! Most photos on my phone are horrible in the years before the separation/divorce and I don't want to use 10+ year old photos. There are a couple of recent photos of me with friends that are great - do I crop out my friends? Do I ask friends to start taking photos of me? And before you all chime in on how the apps suck, I'm not looking for a serious relationship and I *never* want to get married again. I'm not looking for free meals either - I can pay my own way. But a little casual action would be nice....
