Connections, friends and greasing of palms
While I think that can be true, quite a few that I’ve seen highlighted and who we know are legit ballers with a promising future.
How many were highlighted 6-10 years ago that are legit professional ballers today?
No one is claiming the soccer players highlighted go pro. Chill. But my kid was highlighted for doing well at an event and then a college soccer coach followed their X account. I don’t think it’s worthless. And many of the kids you see highlighted do tend to be the better performers (maybe 30% of them that are highlighted).

Like yscofficial, footyaccess, top drawer, etc.? I think there’s even dmvsoccerofficial for this area.
Are they considered soccer-specific news sites? Are they scouts? Or do they get paid to promote clubs and players?
