They could use it for the purpose of finding work. I'd prefer not to use LinkedIn but I had to.
Sooo many posts on my local Facebook "My teenage daughter is looking for babysitting jobs" "My son can mow your lawn" etc. I hire teens who took the time to post that themselves.

Take as old as time that parents friends and co-workers help place promising kids— as interns, sure, but also apprentices and other roles. Sorry you have to see it but it’s been happening forever.
