Not very current, no. But I had one there at a time when parental complains were similar and everything was actually fine. It is the nature of the beast living in North Arlington. Nothing will ever be good enough for parents, and parents will always complain.

No, everything was not actually fine. It was very very far from fine. Such a dismissive ignorant comment.

Excuse me? I said I had a kid there under an IEP at one time and that some parents were complaining but that things were actually fine -- and for my kid they were.

As long as Nottingham has existed it has had parents who complain incessantly. It's the demographics.

Ok, carry on. The school is doing well because of the high socioeconomic status of the families in the neighborhood. Also schools that are great for regular kids are not necessarily great for kids with IEPs. There's a long history of problems at this school for kids with IEPs that you are probably ignorant of.

Please cite specific examples. I can think of one child who used to escape all of the time. They were disruptive and would yell and break things. It wasn't fair to the kids who were trying to learn, but I'm sure that child's parents thought differently.

My child has an IEP there and we've been very happy. I am also of the opinion that profoundly disabled kids should not be with the general school population. It's disruptive.

I have a kid with an IEP who just was promoted from Nottingham. The principal was fine, the assistant principal is great, but she's moving to Taylor. We had no issues at all with our IEP kid getting all of the services they need. The teachers have been great for them. Much better experience than for my older child. IMO they will close Nottingham soon so be prepared to move to Discovery (which I haven't heard great things about) or Tuckahoe depending on which one is closer to the house. They generally group the IEP kids in one class. The current 5th grade class had a lot of kids who seemed to be autistic, but I don't know their diagnoses. I will say that I don't think it would be a welcoming community as far as making friends for the child would be.

It really depends on the kind of supports needed. Are you coming from another APS school? If so, that would help. It’s definitely a mixed bag. Some people have good experiences, but some experiences are pretty awful.

Nottingham is a good school and they are equipped to educate children with disabilities.

Schools with this type of demographic shouldn't have such high teacher turnover. When they do, it's usually a sign something is wrong with the admin.

Hi we are looking at a breathtakingly expensive house in the Nottingham district and on paper the school is great, but has anyone bad recent issues working with Nottingham on existing IEPs? Thanks
