Another vote for not compelling, I did not care about the characters, nor the plot.

It’s not gory other than in small parts. I would say more sad than suspenseful really.

Not disturbing, but also not very compelling.

I just finished reading it (and enjoyed it as an escapist read) and did not find it disturbing.

If you listened to Secret History, you are fine. Mostly just suspense vs graphic descriptions of violence. I read it so can't comment on the narrator.

Yes! It’s a good story!

I'm listening to it right now! I'm really liking it. It's a soap opera-mystery and not deep but a good summer read. Rich people/poor people/teen angst/the 70s/the outdoors/cop investigators. There is crime but I don't find it particularly violent or very disturbing. I am about half-way through. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. It's a plot-driven novel with a good plot that slowly unfolds. Intrigue.

It's long. About 14 hours.

I listen to a lot of books and after a long wait this is available from the library. I’m okay with suspense but don’t like violent / very scary or sick or injured children. I was fine with The Secret History, so I don’t avoid all books with dark story lines.

Is God of the Woods disturbing/ something I should avoid? I can’t tell and don’t want to read too many reviews / ruin it if I do listen. Thanks!
