St Michaels is only 1.5 hours away though. You can spend the day doing things before checking in to the hotel. Same on the departure day.

Ruse is a great restaurant, make a reservation. The hotel attached to it is also nice, although I haven't stayed there. I think it is the Wildset. Obviously the Inn at Perry Cabin is a good option as well.
