Banneker doesn’t permit dual credit (probably to prevent kids from gaming GPA), but lots of kids do dual enrollment. The college office sends a copy of the college transcript/s along with the high school transcript.

Subject: Dual credit for dual enrollment
Did your kid seek dual credit for their dual enrollment class? As I understand it, dual credit means the college class shows up on the DCPS transcript and is counted in the GPA (with AP-level weighting); in addition, taking dual credit might mean that some colleges won’t apply the DE credit toward their degree.
If my kid is not worried about college credit (and doesn’t need the high school credit for graduation), then I assume this decision is all about confidence of success in the class because of implications for GPA. Is that right? And if the student doesn’t go for dual credit (meaning the class isn’t on the transcript), how does the student indicate that they are taking the dual enrollment class in applications?
