Just did a tour there yesterday so I can’t speak to the quality of therapy but it seemed like an interesting concept that could work (I’m not a therapist and I don’t work there, was there in a professional capacity as a Nurse Navigator for a large pediatric practice).

That looks like an other private equity money grab with a dodgy “proprietary method” that they don’t describe - I wonder if it is implemented by untrained “behavior technicians.”

OP should try the legitimate local practices listed here first. I will also add the Washington anxiety center - it is on Capitol Hill but depending on where you are located in Virginia, it may not be that bad of a drive.

OP needs a lot more than this. The Ross Center specializes in anxiety disorders and has psychiatrists on staff.

Is he on meds? that would be my first stop.

And yes, I actually own that book. And I’ve bought workbooks and other books for him but he refuses to do them/can’t do them because he’s too distraught.

We actually did NOCD last night. She was sweet, but seemed a little over her head for the severity of his symptoms and said she was going to connect him with someone else and send me recommendations for in and outpatient hospitals, which I really really don’t want to have to send him to if possible.

Breaking Free From Childhood Anxiety and OCD. It focuses on what parents can do to address anxiety and ocd in our kids. Very helpful when mine was in the worst of generalized anxiety.

My tween is having an epic OCD (he was diagnosed 5 years ago) meltdown that’s lasted almost all day every day for a week and disturbed his sleep. I’m desperate for northern Virginia therapists who are great and can preferably see him soon and often. Please share any resources you can for therapists or other helpful things. I’m at a loss and he’s in extreme pain — as are we, watching him suffer.
