“Staying wet” doesn’t keep you from getting heat stroke. It’s fine to be out but you should recognize the signs of heat sickness for when it’s as hot as it is today but also when it’s 85. You sweat a lot swimming and it’s very dehydrating being in the water and under the sun. Push water at break time.

I would, but not during the hottest hours of the day. So either go in the morning or late afternoon/evening.

I wouldn't swim in creeks or ponds after a long dry hot spell, due to parasites and bacteria that develop in stagnant waters.

Other than that, there are no concerns with heat and swimming. Just don't get sunburned.

Tons of people are taking their kids to the pool. Being in the water does help cool you down. Just make sure he drinks plenty of water.

Fine as long as you're in the water / wet for a good chunk of the time. Our pool was packed and both my kids had swim lessons / practice.

It's fine. Hydrate throughout the day.

Young children and the elderly are at especially high risk to heat exposure. There's probably going to be an extreme heat warning tomorrow, like today and yesterday, so avoid too much outdoor time, and that means even in the shade. No pool.

As long as he’s in the pool and wearing sunscreen, you’re fine.

Take a first aid class to recognize a child who is getting too hot.

Nope. You’ll spontaneously combust if you step foot outside.

Yes it's fine. If the pool is full sun you may want to limit your exposure. If the pool is shaded, you're good for as long as youre comfortable.

This may be a dumb question, but I was going to take DS4 to the pool tomorrow afternoon, but now I’m not sure if it’s okay to be out long in this heat even in a pool. Is it okay or should I keep him in the AC? He’s already going out some at camp, but I know they’re limiting time outdoors right now.
