We insulated under basement floor during construction. Not sure what you can do now that it's built.

No the floor needs to breathe. Drylock on wall and radon system. Put padding under vinyl.

No, it doesn't, according to PE. Drylok on the floor helps prevent Radon and it does not harm the concrete at all.

Insulation/cork/padding material.
LVP
If that's not enough, you can always add carpet padding and carpet on top of the LVP.

Yeah but they’re a one shot deal, if they break they’re finished.

Basement floors are naturally cold - I don’t think you should be covering it for this reason. Cover if you want but you won’t get energy savings.

I used COREtec LVT that is backed with a cork layer. My installers also added an additional layer of cork directly onto the concrete floor. I also have an area rug.

We have LVP. I would describe it as cool, not cold like tile. We put in a few area rugs to make it more homey.

Basement is on HVAC.

Don’t want cold floor to be an energy sink.

Planning to finish the floor, but how? If I do LVP on cement for waterproof quality, will it be freezing bc no insulation? How do you prevent losing heat through the basement?
