I would keep in the American Funds. I would not worry about the fees. they are too small to really matter.
I was going to give the exact opposite answer. American Funds will likely have way worse fees, although depending on which class shares you have, much of that may have been the initial sales charge that's a sunk cost. Check your specifics, but higher fees absolutely do eat into returns over time.
