I've tried to no success to teach my kid to wear a tampon. I've even asked the pediatrician If they aren't ready they aren't ready. I've bought cups, disc's, tampons with applicators and ones without. When she is ready she will use it.

Pools are one thing. Oceans are another.

Fact: Sharks CAN detect menstrual blood in the water.

Just sayin'...

I was hopeful also. The knix bathing suit was expensive but it's stylish and my kid gets compliments on it. She now just wears it.

I wish there were options that looked like Knix but were not period swimwear. My young teen thinks the Knix suits look cute, but she doesn't want to use them for their intended purpose and I don't want to pay $$$ just because they're cute.

My kid uses the Ruby love brand. It’s more pricey but works. In the pool there is no blood, the force of water mostly keeps it in anyway.
Once you get out of the pool the barrier keeps the blood contained. DD has been using it for 3 years now.

There's already a thread on this that I found with an easy search:

My guess is they're fine if you want to show up t the pool, swim, and then be done. And not so fine if you want to spend the day at the pool, alternating swimming and lounging. Or, fine if it's a light day and not fine if it's a heavy day.

They don't work. I'm 6 months post partum and after bleeding through them quickly went back to depends.

I agree with using them as backup to a tampon. But I also hate pads.

I would only use these as backup with a tampon, unless you have a very light flow. I tried period underwear and it definitely leaks with a medium to heavy flow.

I’ll be at a public pool. I’ve found a few brands on Amazon. Do these actually work? Reviews look great but each does have a few “sat on a towel and leaked” scenarios but those are sprinkled in amongst high ratings.
