My DH sometimes mows just the areas that have had some growth (for example, under a tree) to neaten things up.

It’s not out of control, but is looking a little tall.

It's not that hot. You are just looking for excuses and wanting validation.

1 hour of work won't kill you unless you are very ill already, in which case you need to focus on your health instead and hire out the lawn work.

What's with this alpha dipshit call out mentality?

Lawn is small, and will take 5-10 minutes max. I was sincerely asking about what's good for the lawn. I don't love the weather, but I'll deal and am outside every day. No need to be an aggressive idiot.

If you cut it, it may scorch in this heat. Not sure what type you have.

No, it's good for when it's not raining much. Bad for when it's very wet.

Should never cut more than 1-2 inches off the top at a mowing.
Vary frequencies of mowing based on growth rate and season.
Letting it get too tall invites fungus problems also.

Actually, our lawn company has told us that keeping the grass tall is better in the heat.

During "drought" not "heat".
Taller grass is for keeping in moisture to prevent the need to water as much.

Your health is more important than the grass.

I would leave it until the end of the week then mow at like 7 am.

Ordinarily I’d mow the lawn, but given the heat, would you leave it until next weekend?

It’s not out of control, but is looking a little tall.
