Served melon and prosciutto at my wedding. It was delicious and perfect for summer. Is there an impossible/plant based version?

My DS is vegetarian- some of the plant based stuff is tastier than you think.

Fruit and cheese has the same effect. Go to a good cheese counter and ask for recommendations.

You can get kosher prosciutto made of duck or goose. Maybe look for that.

I also agree that the combination of melon and turkey bacon or some kind ot non-pork sausage is delicious, either just as ingredients on the same plate at breakfast or potentially combined in some way to make an appetizer.

Also, honeydew and lox is another nice combo and can have the same visual impact and salty/sweet as melon and prosciutto.

Bacon is a pork product.

Not the bacon PP but OP could try turkey bacon. I actually think bacon with cantaloupe is better than prosciutto with cantaloupe.

I’m thinking making a reduction sauce with OJ and soy sauce, add a drop of liquid smoke and a dash of cayenne, drizzle over the melon balls.

I don't care for the melon and prosciutto combination at all. But for a similar approach you could try cutting pieces of melon and salting lightly with salt and pepper. It's an old fashioned treat and my parents and grandparents always loved it as a summer delight.

I like strips of cucumber rolled with a cream cheese mixture, or "stuffed" cucumber with something salty like an olive tapenade with the cream cheese. I don't like melon or meat though!

I don’t eat pork products. I love the concept of prosciutto and melon on a summer cheese/fruit/nut platter. It adds some cool freshness from the melon, and salty protein from the prosciutto, plus it looks pretty on the platter. I typically would have on the platter some cheeses, bread/crackers, olives, nuts, maybe some ripe tomatoes.

I’n looking for ideas to substitute for the melon/proscuitto combo.

Thanks.
