I've heard this too and never believed it until recently. I started eating higher protein and fat meals and could easily go 16 hrs and not feel hungry. If I eat some processed meal like frozen pizza, I'm in the kitchen a few hrs later hungry for more.
Just like the old saying how you can eat Chinese food (American version of Chinese food) and feel hungry again an hour later.
That's because American Chinese food is FULL of added sugar, tons of it. Average plate of sweet and sour or chicken that's coated like sesame, etc. has around 1 cup of sugar, often HFCS, added to the sauce. 1 whole cup of sugar per serving! That's like drinking 4 cokes.
