They may be reading books that don't take long to read. You aren't going to read Ulysses, The Goldfinch, Demon Copperhead, and East of Eden in one month.

I used to read about 3 to 4 per month. Now I read more like one every couple of months because I'm on a medication that causes extreme fatigue and it has affected my ability to concentrate.

When I was in lit grad school I read about 3 or 4 per week.

I aim for appx 2 a month or 24 a year.

I read between 6-10 books a month. Last year I read 115 books.

I don't have kids which frees up a lot of time. I also don't watch much tv. I read every day on my lunch hour and I'm always listening to an audiobook in my car.

I read 80-100 a year, all in print except maybe 5-6 audiobooks. I read a mix of classics, nonfiction, new literary fiction, and a few mysteries or historical fiction.

I listen to 5-6/month. Unfortunately, this has made actual reading very difficult for me and I become restless very easily. Before audio books, I typically read a book a week. Now, I rarely finish one - if I really like it I’ll just get it on audiobooks.

It really depends on the month. Some weeks I won't read anything, Some weeks I'll get through 3-4 books. Of course some books take longer to read than others. Just depends on how busy/tired I am.

I get through about 40 books a year. Of these, about 5 are longer read-alouds to my kids (Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Calpurnia Tate…) and about 4-5 are books I read “on the page.” The rest are audio. I also skim-read a lot (maybe 15-20) of romance novels a year but don’t count them as carefully.
