“Purple parrot “ is adequate and fun. Arenas is good for lunch. “The dunes” above boardwalk is okay and great ocean views. Of course, there is always “summer house.”

Rise Up Coffee is a good choice too.

Or how about breakfast via Rise Up Coffee?

Lupo is very good, but might be a bit pricey for 6 people. Louie's if they like pizza and subs.

You could also give DD a pre-paid credit card to use towards whatever place the family chooses.

Sorry you had a bad experience. PP who recommended them and it sounds like an unfortunate anomaly. I’ve had great service from them in multiple ways over the years.

Disagree with SoDel, I tried to get a gift card through them and they were so unresponsive and unhelpful when their website wasn't working and I live a few hours away. I emailed and called multiple times and they said they would fix it and never bothered.

Give your daughter a credit card and tell her to pick up a dinner or lunch.

Depending on the age, maybe tell the host parents the plan. Like in a thank you note say “Larla has our card for emergencies and to treat the group to lunch or dinner one night. She searched online and thought Beach Restuarant 59 looked like a good option, but whatever suits you guys.”

Sorry, just send a card. They don't need or likely want a dinner out there.
