An unfortunate overlapping of names -- Washington Global is a middle school that was reviewed earlier this year and deemed to have met all of their goals. They were approved to continue without conditions. I don't know the school personally but they seem to be doing very well.
Girls Global is a high school. That is the school that will have to relinquish next year if this year's results don't turn out well.

If they don't meet substantially meet goals for 2024-2025, they have to relinquish their charter by the end of next. The Capital Village financial correction plan is interesting. They already had a plan in place but missed the requirements and now have additional requirements. One of the requirements is that they must enroll a minimum of 77 students next year or provide a new budget.

This year's saga, starting with the Eagle faceplant until this final set of reviews, has been eye-opening. I wonder what next year will hold. It seems like these conditions create a situation where a lot of schools may close in a single year-- the schools that are officially up for review plus those from 1, 2, or 3 prior years that are on conditions. Plus any out of cycle reviews or failures that are currently unknown. So the total number of schools potentially in jeopardy is higher than people realize.

The charter board used to post the financial results for the prior fiscal year before the end of the next school year. Over the past few years, everything has gotten much more delayed. Instead of getting a financial report in the spring, it's coming out much later. Maybe they could catch more financial issues before a new school year begins if they go back to the old schedule.

Looks like they are lifting truancy notices of concern for multiple schools -- makes sense since in the previous meetings several schools questioned the accuracy of their data and the unclear rules. They also had several that were on the agenda for truancy in past meetings but then taken off because of "errors".
The charter board has such an important function in this city, one has to wonder just how good (or bad) they are at monitoring schools.
