Americans got Arrogant. Don’t get me wrong, I love this country, but it requires care, seriousness, humility, and attentiveness to keep what we have. 1/3 of of eligible voters don’t vote in presidential elections elections and its even less in state, congressional, and local elections. Putting quite simply, people don’t care or treat elections like it’s inconsequential. Being the most dominant and wealthiest country on the planet is not promised to us, put people act like it is.

China is in a very strong position. The mayhem and erraticness caused by Trump and the GOP has gifted the world to China. But now that Trump has profoundly weakened American influence around the globe, the upside is that China may be less inclined to invade Taiwan, which would lead to China's isolation, sanctions, etc. Why ruin a good thing with a costly invasion? China's power and influence grows by the day as long as Republicans are in power.

China is not the horrible enemy of human existence. Culturally it's a difference in traditions and systems. The US was never ever 100% awesome. It's def less so now with Trump of course but if anything, he made clear the probs of Dem even though it's a beautiful political system. Trump was elected by a majority of Americans who largely still support him.
