Thank you! I called the credit card companies and they said they no longer authorize travel - "our fraud detector technology is very advanced." We'll see about that, I guess.
He'll be with several friends so worst case, someone else can likely cover.
Make sure he has good credit card back ups. DS has a Greenlight card and there was an outage last week so could not be used for about a day.
Unfortunately, our backup option isn’t great. This week he had difficulty paying his hostel bill with my Chase United Mileage card, despite Chase saying no travel notification was required. It was over $1,000 for the hostel so maybe it was flagged by transaction size
I strongly recommend using the Cost Split app. You need to pay $1 for the full version. My DS is travelling with friends and every time one of them pays something that covers one or two of the others, they enter it on Cost Split and it keeps a running tally.
