Given the technology we have these days for T1D I doubt that was it. Sudden death for women of that age is usually a heart attack because the symptoms are so subtle.

Which sadly for a T1 is not completely unprecedented

Very sad news! She had type 1 diabetes. I wonder if that had anything to do with the cause.

Oh no!!!!! Her “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef” series on Food Network was so indispensable to me as someone who ate out 24/7 and wasn’t sure how to turn on the oven in the apartment I’d lived in for 12 years. That show legit took me from someone who could barely boil water, to a confident cook who can entertain 12+ people over a long weekend. I’ve frequently tried to find DVDs of that show so I can watch and keep learning.
I think her personality was probably a lot for people, and hitching her cart to the now-cancelled Mario Batali probably had a negative impact. But I learned so many tips, hacks, knife skills, and basics on that show. I’ll be forever grateful to her.

Dang, I really liked her on The Worst Cooks in America. So young, I wonder what happened.

No!! I always saw her on food network advertising something but I’m not sure I ever actually watched her particular shows. Still I feel like I knew her!

When I had cable, I would watch her cooking shows (like where she cooked and not competition shows). I really liked her and learned a lot.
