Get samples from select blinds. I've been happy with our honeycomb shades. Not utilitarian.

I don’t think so. I mean, to each their own. But top down bottom up is a particular aesthetic.

I'm looking for shades that:

1. are cordless
2. look good
3. have top-down/bottom-up operation
4. can be motorized
5. are light-filtering but opaque enough to provide nighttime privacy

I know cellular shades fit the bill on functionality, but they often look too utilitarian to me. Does anybody here have good experiences with roman shades or woven wood shades that are TDBU?

Most of my windows are double hung, 6' tall by 2.5' wide. I've got a couple patio doors that will need coverings too.

I'm on a corner lot facing a somewhat busy street, so privacy is a big factor.
