My 2024 grad had a 1510 SAT, 4.2, 10 plus APs and was waitlisted > rejected from VT engineering.

FCPS top 10 jigh school.


4.2 with that many APs? Suggests more A-rather than A in several classes throughout the years.

Only the overall school SAT score is published in the common data set. For engineering, the most recent score shown is for 2023 on the engineering page. If you see newer data, please let me know!

You won't know the true average until they publish it. My son was accepted into their COE this past cycle from a high-performing FCPS high school. He submitted a 1490 SAT, 9 APs and 2 post-APs, and 4.4 wGPA.

Has anyone taken the engineering tour for Vatech recently? I have a rising senior and am wondering what the average SAT score is for engineering. The website is outdated and only lists the average for 2023. Would like to know what it was for this year’s Fall 2025 class to decide if DC should submit their score or not.
