I thought keratin treatments cause hair loss?

Getting rid of silicones in my products made a world of difference for me. Far less frizz without them.

I have 2B/C hair and a leave-in conditioner plus a gel applied when wet works best for me. Right now I'm a fan of the Curlsmith line (no sulfates/no silicones).

Where is everyone getting keratin treatments?

I have used them all and the answer is an express keratin treatment.

I still use an oil because my hair is so coarse but the treatment works wonders for DC humidity. I always thought I had amazing hair because I grew up in dry area. In DC it is so frizzy.

Its super heavy on certain hair types though. If your hair ever feels "sticky" or like it won't totally dry after using conditioner/products, this product will not be for you.

No Poo (sulphate-free cleanser, 2-3 times per week)
One Conditioner (every day)
AnGel (every day)

Scrunch my curls upside-down in the shower then wrap my hair in a microfiber towel while I get ready. Never brush or blow-dry. Frizz free curls/waves (depends how humid it is) every day

And I'm sure someone will jump on about the lawsuit against Deva about some women claiming Deva producte caused her to lose her hair. Here's what they don't tell you: that lawsuit came out at about the same time as the original creator of the Deva products (who sold her company and made a fortune), released her new products, Curly World. Isn't hard to figure out about the timing

I have really frizzy, fine hair.

Top tip is to use moisturizing shampoo/conditioner because frizz is caused by your hair seeking out moisture in the air. If you moisturize it yourself, it doesn't need to do that.

And I really like Colour Wow Dream Coat. I thought it couldn't be that good and then I tried it and it actually is that good.

I did Keratin for the first time, it's been amazing! It's straight when I want to blow it out and it has maintained the wave when I want to let it air dry. I wished I had done this years ago and will do it again when it wears off.

My hair may be a bit more wavy than yours, but Ouidad’s heat and humidity gel works for me. I use the curly girl method and let my hair air dry. I also sleep on a satin pillowcase.
Regular hair cuts are also necessary- if it gets too long it loses volume at the crown and definitely tends to frizz more. I keep it a bit below chin length and that works well.

I am not originally from DC. I find summers here lead my slightly wavy just below chin length hair to frizz.

Some of you are likely expert at dealing with this.

What home products do you use - and how? Post shampoo? After drying?

Techniques?

Or do you use Keratin or another salon-based system?
