I have had to wear one compression sock for an injury for the past 10 years, and I have no spider veins in that leg but my healthy leg is covered. If I could do it over, I would wear compression socks on both when home or traveling by car or plane to prevent them.

I am 47. I just got it treated. I was having tingling in my feet, chronic swelling and pain. Just the appearance of a large varicose vein and a bunch of spider veins did not bother me. It was the tingling and the swelling.

My mom and grandmother had these and I do not want to be as swollen as them. I will probably continue to wear compression hose while I am sitting a long time at work most of the time.

They redirect to healthier veins

I paid $400 or $500 per treatment (can’t recall) and needed two treatments for them to completely go away.

I did this too, but two years later they're all back.

Are you wearing compression hose?

My insurance is paying for it. I am late 40s.

I’ve had laser surgery 4 times (3 times on one leg and once on the other). I have significant reflux in my veins. I think when they close a branch, it opens another essentially. My parents both had significant varicose veins and I am trying to avoid the severity they had . I don’t regret it and I’d do it again. It’s easy (except the compression hose wearing). I still wear compression hose if I fly or am going to be sitting for a long time.

Do a consultation with a vascular surgeon and see what your options are.

I have had spider veins in one leg since high school. I've always been active. My doctors says that there is no medical need for treatment, and - like PP's - to keep up exercise, eating right, etc. But they're definitely worse now in my 50s.

My mother has always had them, too, and also has developed venous insufficiency in her late 70s. I've just accepted what I have -- and stay as active as possible and show them to my doctor each year.

New poster. I have throbbing veins in my right leg. Is the treatment worth it?

Radio or laser therapy?

The saline injections did nothing.

I am 50, about 5 pounds overweight, exercise and about 8000 steps daily.

Doctor suggestions of exercise, eat right aren’t that helpful since I already have been doing those things my whole life!
Also don’t smoke or drink. (Don’t drink at all) so it’s not that.

Don’t do it. Unless they are painful or problematic. It’s not worth the potential complications and the treatments aren’t very successful long term

I’m mid-50s and want to do something about the broken spider veins on my legs and the big blue veins across the front of my shins. Have you don’t anything to address ugly veins? Was it worth it and how much did you pay?
