Have they been listening at all? There are more American criminals on the loose in this country than illegal immigrants who’ve committed a crime. And did Trump not understand that when you raid a restaurant kitchen or a farm that they would lose vital staff? I don’t get it.

He gets it. He’s a narcissist who loves the chaos.

This. He gets off on creating problems that he then "solves".

The Trump administration just cancelled TPS for 500,000 people who had work permits and were probably working these hotel and agriculture jobs. So which one is it?

Doesn’t matter. If he is the orchestrator of a bipartisan immigration bill the Republicans win in 2028. He’ll just temper the irritation on the far right with ICE raids and insensitive tweets.

The crazy thing is if he dies in office. They all lose. LBJ took the VP role saying, statistically the odds were in his favor.

There is no scenario where the left and center see Trump as "the good guy"

Trump’s base are so in love with him that he could propose trans athletes in women’s basketball and 1/3-1/2 his supporters would find some rationale to like it. This a play to win over some suburban right leaning centrists. The type of people who would vote for McCain but wouldn’t vote Trump. I see Marco being involved in this somehow and it being a long play to get Marco or JD the 2028 election.
