Why do you need to mention it at all? Who cares? He is old enough to not need to be taught how to shave. People have different preferences about their own body hair. Some girls don’t shave anything ever, some shave their arms. Some teen boys shave their chest hair, some don’t. While legs is probably less common to shave for a boy, it isn’t something that needs a discussion. Body builders do it.

Manscaping. Leave it alone or else just casually ask him ONCE, in a nonjudgmental tone, why he’s shaving. Then leave it alone.

I know some boys who do it because they are really into lifting and fitness and it’s the norm especially if they are really into social media. I also know boys who do it because they are big into mountain biking or cycling and it’s a pre-emptive move to make it easier to deal with road rash or gashes. The other situation is boys who do field sports and do extensive ankle taping, like lacrosse and football. If they don’t like pre-wrap it makes tape removal easy.

The only man i know who shaved his legs was a closeted gay guy. Maybe things are different now and it means nothing?

DS (16) has been shaving his legs. Now with DD, I had been all prepared to have the talk about how women don't need to shave their legs and the societal pressure is total bs. However, I'm unsure of how to approach this with DS, because the pressure doesn't really exist for dudes. Honestly, I feel like for them the standard is kind of the opposite and hairy legs = good. Now, I'm fine if DS does choose to shave his legs, but I don't want him to feel pressured. But if he does, where is pressure even coming from, like is this a new trend? It doesn't matter, but I'm just a tad bit confused
