No party, usually no gifts except maybe close friends.

We only do a gift if the parents are invited. Then we bring a card with $100-200 depending on how close we are to the graduate.

I wouldn’t think it would be expected since many high school kids usually do not have a lot of spending money 💵 to give.

My kid and his friends did not exchange gifts/gift cards. My other younger kid went to a close friend’s older sibling’s graduation party and took a card with cash that I gave. Thoughts it was appropriate since they weren’t peers.

That economy is booming now! Don't forget to pay your 40% taxes on that income!

This is what my family does at Christmas. It's ridiculous.

One of my son’s closest friends just graduated. They didn’t exchange anything. We asked our son if we could at least give them some money to go out to eat and was told “ it would be weird, no one does that.”
I guarantee in a couple of years when our daughter graduates there will be gifts exchanged.

No gifts between kids here! As a parent I have given gifts to Dds long time friends.

We just had a party and my DD has gone to a bunch. Yes everyone gave gifts and she received gifts from everyone. The most common gift was a food gift card of $25. There weren’t really any that were less than that. There were a few gifts of things like legos, books, shirts, that sort of thing.

If you’re attending the party of a fellow senior, our tradition was you don’t bring anything unless your parents know the kid, and then you bring a card with cash from your parents or your parents are invited.
Underclassmen bring little token gifts for seniors (cute jewelery, stuff for dorms, little novelty gifts about inside jokes) and/or cards from their parents. A Starbucks card from a junior or below makes sense, but it’s weird to bring a gift card or money present for your peers- that feels transactional and imbalanced.

DD has been going a few parties and will be going to more, she's buying everyone Starbuck gift cards along with the card. This is all adding up! What has your high school graduate done? We're not having a party for our DD, she elected to go on a trip instead. Not that I am looking for a return... but guess I am..
